Something not working?

There is no ticket queue and no chatbot. Email goes to the people who build the app, and is usually answered within two business days.

Common questions

The script isn’t following my voice

Three things account for almost every case:

  • Microphone or speech recognition permission was declined — check Settings → ScriptCam and switch both on.
  • Your iPhone’s dictation language does not match the language you are speaking.
  • The room is loud enough that recognition cannot pick out your voice. Get closer to the phone, or tap the word you are on to resync.
Can I record without the script showing in the video?

That is the default. The prompter overlay is drawn outside the recording pipeline, so the saved file contains the camera feed only. If you ever see interface elements in an exported video, email us the clip — that is a bug, not a setting.

Where are my recordings saved?

On your device. After each take you get a review screen with Save, Share and Discard. Save writes to your camera roll; nothing is uploaded anywhere, and nothing is kept if you discard it.

I use a glass teleprompter rig

Turn on mirror mode and the script flips horizontally so it reads correctly through the beam splitter. Split position and overlay opacity are both adjustable for rigs that sit further from your face.

Take my email off the launch list

Email us from the address you signed up with and it is deleted the same day. There is no other record of you — the list stores an email address, where you signed up from, and the date.

How do I report a bug?

Tell us what you did, what happened instead, and your iPhone model and iOS version. A screen recording is worth a hundred words. Everything goes to the address at the top of this page and is read by the person who wrote the app.
